Marco Tigano

I was born in the north of Italy, in the beautiful area of Lake Maggiore. I completed my bachelor and masters studies at University of Parma from 2006 to 2009. I went on and obtained a PhD in Biotechnologies from the same University in 2012.

From 2014 on, I worked as a post-doctoral fellow at NYU Grossmann School of Medicine and Memorial Sloan Kettering Institute in NYC under the mentorship of Dr. Agnel Sfeir.

I joined the Thomas Jefferson Medical School as Assistant Professor in 2021 and I am a faculty member of Mitocare (Center for Mitochondrial Imaging Research & Diagnostics).

Bradley Irizarry

I was born and raised in Guanica, Puerto Rico then moved to the U.S. prior to starting high school.  I attended Penn State University from 2015 to 2019 and completed my bachelor’s in Molecular Genetics and Developmental Biology.

From 2019 to 2021 I worked at a pharmaceutical GMP lab as Molecular Biology analyst. I am currently a Master’s candidate at Lehigh University working towards a degree in Molecular Biology focusing on cellular signaling.

I joined the MitoCare team in December, 2021 and am working in the Tigano Lab hoping to learn more about the signaling pathway behind innate immune system activation in response to mitochondrial stress and the pathology as a result of mitochondrial stress.
